Introduction

The ICM-1000 is an Intelligent Communications Meter that utilize GSM network to transmit meter information and meter readings to the natural gas companies. Built in with communications features and safety features such as gas shut off valve and gas flow sensor, ICM can remotely shut off gas when it detects high or low gas flow. It is designed to transmit gas’ readings and safety information from a single ICM, which helps reduce the cost per point for utilities involved.Based on two-way wireless GSM technology, the ICM utilizes GSM cellular infrastructures as its wide-area network to report consumption, safety, and tamper information to the ICM Collection Server. The gas utility can request the ICM for gas shut-off or other information in the meters to report back to the AMR Collection Server via the GSM network from the office computers, without dispatching personnel. Other value-added services, such as CO detection and gas leakage, can be provided using ICM-1000.
